Essay on “Importance of Education” Complete Essay for Class 10, Class 12 and Graduation and other classes.

Importance of Education

According to Bacon “ Reading makes a full man; writing an exact man and conference a ready man.” And if someone asks what reading, writing and conference make together, anyone would say  that all of them stand for Education. In other words, we can say that education makes anyone complete, accurate and worldly wise. It means that no one is complete without education.

Thus, we can confidently say that education is necessary an all – round development of the personality of a human –being . he cannot hope for success, name, fame and prosperity in life without it.

Even  a nation would be devoid of any progress, if its citizens fail to have the benefits of education. H.L. Wayland has correctly said, “ Universal suffrage, without universal education, would be a cure.” For the success of any democracy, education is a must. Imagine a country with illiterate ministers voted to power by illiterate people!

Unfortunately, there are many people who downgrade the value of education and say that it has never benefited anyone. But this is not correct. Knowledge is too far advanced today for a man to gain without its specialized branch. Trade, industry, agriculture, medicine, the I.T. and all other areas have become so complex that no one can take up any job without being educated.

An educated man will never find himself stranded in the midst of any difficulty. His brain, developed by serious – thinking during his academic years, will unfailingly arrive at some solution to the problem that besets him. This is what  education prepares us for. and most     of all , education gives us not only the mental but also physical strength necessary to face any challenges of life with dignity.

An illiterate person simple gropes in the dark, leaving result to chance or fare. He is ultimately dependent on theirs. Farmers in India, in olden times, who could not read or write, were cheated out of their land and willingly suffered exploitation and injustice only because they had no education.

They were deprived of their rights by unscrupulous landlords, moneylenders and middlemen, who made them, put their thumb impression on false documents of possession women in India had been suppressed , dominated and ill- treated only because they had no education.

But now with their having been educated to a certain extent the old situation has started changing quite fast. Now they have come out in the open to fight for their rights. They are not dependent on others, nor do they silently submit to whatever cruelty is meted out to them.

Education liberates a man’s mind from wrong thinking ignorance, superstations and  prejudices. It frees him from evil influences and vices. It equips him with knowledge and skill, enabling him to make a good living, culminating in his being an ideal citizen.

With the spread of education, gone are the days of bonded labour, economic slavery, pangs on account of being an untouchable and being misled by black magic. Thus it can be boldly claimed that education has awakened the masses all over the world.

India is a land of saints and scientists . There are born many great saints and scientists in our country who took our country a step ahead on the world map. Their contribution can never be forgotten.

Education played a vital role in the life of these saints and scientists. Education is such a seed that has very vast growth in the future. Education is such a candle that takes us from darkness to brightness. It only makes never breaks us.

important of education essay

The Indian education system is outdated. The education recommended in our syllabus is the perfect example of rote memorization. No textbook promotes innovative ideas. Education has simply become a source to provide a job.

The students are becoming physically strong not mentally. Our education system does not provide the opportunity to innovate and explore new ideas of learning. The government should take care of the education system.

There is no requirement to open new institutions of education but improvement is very much required. The government should take steps to bring revolution in the field of education. We have to make the people educated not literate.

Must Read: An Essay on Teacher’s Day

Education must be provided to be the owner not to be the servant. The main purpose of education is to empower a person ‘how to think’ not ‘what to think.’ The innovative courses and scriptures must be introduced.

We must promote education for all concepts. The parents must be encouraged to send their children to school . Our country is still called a developing country because the literacy rate of India is not high. Let the world realise the true potential of our country.

essay on education

Introducing an essay on education

Education is a crucial tool for individuals, families, societies, countries, and the world as a whole. It allows you to understand the world you live in. It also makes you aware of your role, responsibilities, duties, and rights. Further, it affords you the ability to think rationally and be a part of the evolution of the human race.

Education includes learning the theories and methods mastered by humans over time. It also includes new and revolutionary ways of approaching knowledge. Education can be formal where students pursue academics. It can also be informal where students learn from society, their experiences, family, nature, etc.

Why education is important for individuals?

Education is an empowering process. It opens your mind to understanding the modern world and also helps you compete. Here are some factors that highlight the importance of education:

Eradicating poverty

We live in a world where money plays an important role. Families that have access to less money tend to forego certain needs and desires. An educated person can get a job and secure the financial future of the family. Hence, more educated people in a country can help us eradicate poverty.

Reducing crime

Lack of education is often the cause of many crimes. Also, an educated person is aware of his/her rights and can stand against crime or injustice. This helps reduce crime.

Boosts productivity

Education opens your mind to newer possibilities. An educated farmer is known to be more productive than an uneducated one.

Creates confidence

An educated person has the knowledge to understand the world and work to get what he/she wants. Hence, education can help create a confident person who is self-dependent and self-assured.

Empowers women

For centuries, women played a subordinate role to men. They were not allowed to study or work in public offices. In fact, in many societies, women were considered to be wives and mothers only. Education is a powerful way of empowering women. An educated woman is self-reliant, independent, and can voice out against injustices confidently.

Better communication

An educated person tends to communicate better than an uneducated one. It instills confidence and helps communicate verbally and non-verbally (body language, etc.) efficiently.

Better decision-making

Equipped with the knowledge of the world, an educated person tends to make better decisions than uneducated ones. Also, knowledge helps you understand new things with ease.

Importance of education for society

Education contributes to society in many ways:

  • A society that does not focus on education faces problems like poor living standards, conflicts, health issues, etc. An educated society tends to find solutions to most of these issues.
  • Educated people in a society tend to find creative and innovative solutions to problems.
  • People tend to have better moral values if they are educated.
  • Educated individuals understand their role in society and their responsibilities better than uneducated ones.

State of education in India

According to the last Census report (2011), around 73% of the Indian population was literate. This was a major improvement from the 41% literacy rate in 1981 and 18% in 1951. It is believed that education is the primary contributor to the economic development of India. With 900+ Universities and 40,000+ colleges, the Indian Higher Education System is the second-largest in the world. India has given some of the leading global professionals like Sundar Pichai (Google Inc, CEO), Ajaypal Singh Banga (MasterCard, CEO and President), Rajeev Suri (Nokia, CEO), Indira Nooyi (PepsiCo, CEO), and many world leaders and diplomats.

Promotion of education in India

While the administration can open schools and colleges in different corners of the country, the bigger challenge is getting children there. Hence, it is important to focus on spreading awareness about the importance of education. Here are some steps taken by the Indian Government to promote education in the country.

  • In 2009, the Government formed the Right To Educate Act. Under this Act, education was made a fundamental right for every child in the age range of 6 to 14 years.
  • Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan that focused on primary education in India
  • Adult education scheme
  • Beti bachao, beti padhao, and various other schemes

Summing up the essay on education

This essay on education is a glimpse into the importance of education for individuals and society. Hence, the need of the hour is to increase awareness and facilities required by children to learn and grow. Here are some important questions on education.

The best definition of education is ‘ acquiring knowledge and learning how to use it in the best possible manner ‘. It needs to be creative, constructive, forward-looking, and help make the world a better place.

Q3. Why education is important in our life?

Education is important to us due to various reasons. It helps erdicate poverty and reduces crime. Further, education creates confidence in us, improves communication, and boosts our productivity. 10 Lines, Short & Long Essay On The Importance Of Education For Children

' src=

Points to Note While Writing an Essay on the Importance of Education

10 lines on the importance of education, short essay on the importance of education, long essay on the importance of education, what will your child learn from this essay on the importance of education.

Education is all about gathering knowledge and training the mind to think and apply reasoning to solve problems. It is the foundation on which any person, society, or country progresses. While our country has grown and developed over time, we may take the value of education for granted.

Children need to know and understand the value of education. Teachers encourage students to reflect upon its significance by writing an essay. Children will need to think of reasons why education is important to them and why it is valuable for society at large. Let us guide your child to write a good essay on this challenging topic for classes 1, 2 and 3:

If you are asked to write a paragraph on the importance of education, remember these tips:

  • A short essay on the topic can be to the point, and include some facts about education.
  • Longer essays need an introduction, a body and a conclusion to form a coherent write-up.
  • These can be written as a combination of facts about education, and a personal perspective.
  • Use your imagination to think about how educated individuals are valuable members of society. Add these points to the essay in relevant places.
  • A specific topic like this can talk about education and the job market.

Here is a short, 10-line essay on the importance of education:

  • Education is a basic need for everyone in the modern day to live a good life.
  • It plays an important role in enabling us to use technological systems and services.
  • Well educated people can take up different jobs and become successful in life.
  • Without a good education, one will lose out on the opportunity to earn well.
  • Education also protects us from being exploited and cheated by others.
  • A large population of educated people is a valuable asset for the country.
  • Education helps move society forward and discard old and unproductive ways of thinking and conduct.
  • Education is essential for people from poor sections of the economy to develop and prosper.
  • Education will uplift an individual along with their family and community.
  • We should value our education and ensure that children from every section of society get an equal opportunity at education.

A short paragraph on the importance of education tests children’s knowledge and writing skills. Here is an example of an essay on the importance of education:

Education is a critical factor for the progress of an individual and the nation. It is about gathering knowledge and learning how to think and apply the knowledge to solve problems. In the modern-day world, where information dominates everyday life, it is important to be educated to understand the world. Through good education, we can get good jobs and improve the quality of our life and social status. Education also plays a significant role in becoming successful in life.

Education helps us use all the new technology available to us. Educated people can also teach their children well and raise the next generation of educated individuals ready to contribute to society. In this competitive world, education makes a major difference in getting good jobs and employment opportunities.

A well-educated person is an asset to the family, society, and nation. We should strive to ensure that children from every section get good education opportunities.

To write a long essay on the importance of education, children need to gather their ideas and arrange them properly to write a coherent composition. Here is an example of an essay on the topic for students of class 3:

Education has immense importance in our lives. A world without education is a world that is still primitive, where the quality of life is low for everyone. In essence, education is all about gathering knowledge and developing reasoning skills to make good judgments. Education is critical for uplifting both the individual and their society.

It is often said that the home is where education first begins. Parents are the first teachers who teach many important lessons that are useful for life. Education then takes the form of schooling, where children learn about the world. Higher education in the form of college, later on, teaches people specific skills that give them job opportunities in different fields.

Although the knowledge acquired and skills gained during schooling and college is a major part of it, education is a continuous process that lasts our entire lifetime. Through education, we refine our thinking skills and gain different perspectives based on new information. We also learn how to differentiate false information from what is true. These essential life skills that education brings improve the quality of our work and personal life.

Education is crucial for people from a lower economic background to achieve a better standard of living. A decent schooling and basic education can help children come out of poverty when they grow up.

Good education is also essential for building wealth. Educated individuals understand different industries and can get high paying jobs. They will also be well informed to make good judgments on investments and learn to recognise opportunities for tremendous growth. When considering all the advantages, it can be said that there is no limit to how high education can take an individual in life.

Our education systems are evolving, and competition is increasing among people. People who are the most successful are also the most educated. In the future, where information is freely available, education is bound to take on new definitions. The educated people of the future will be those who can quickly assimilate information and apply it to solve problems and improve lives.

When writing about the importance of education, children will learn to express their ideas and knowledge in simple lines, as well as in long paragraphs. The examples given here are meant to show children how to use their thoughts and opinions about the given topic and weave it together coherently.

Children will understand the significance of education and why they come to school to learn. They will also realise the value of having the privilege of a good education when they look at the world around them.

Use some of these ideas suggested here and add your views and points to write a great composition on the topic!

The Lasting Value of the Personal Essay

This writing form has a value that goes beyond the college application as it nurtures self-reflection and inspires creativity.

Teenager working on a laptop while looking out a window

I still remember my own personal essay that I wrote decades ago during my college admissions process. My essay focused on movies and how movies were a conduit of curiosity. It was also about the death of my father and how movies, in part, had provided a common ground for us—a connection. Although my essay, of course, was not the sole determining factor in my admission, it’s a predominant memory from that time of my life. To this day, I feel it had a persuasive effect on my admittance.

In fact, now looking back, I can’t recall my grade point average or my class rank or the final grade that my English teacher gave me on my literary analysis of Heart of Darkness. Even my exact SAT score, back then a real measure of academic aptitude, remains fuzzy to me all these years later, “shaded in wistful half-lights,” as described by Norman Maclean. I can, however, remember nearly every sentence, if not quite every word, of the personal essay I submitted to my first-choice college, which has undoubtedly, for me, over the years remained one of the most important pieces of writing I have ever produced.

The personal essay is an enduring literary genre and an art form that provides often-challenging material in English classes. In my Advanced Placement Language and Composition course, we frequently read works from an array of authors from various eras, including Michel de Montaigne, Virginia Woolf, E. B. White, Joan Didion, André Aciman, Brian Doyle, Dr. Oliver Sacks. These writers function as exemplars for my students to both analyze and model not only for their rhetorical value but also for their stylistic technique and philosophical ruminations.

Power of Personalization

One of the most predominant rhetorical strategies we recognize in these texts is personalization. And so Woolf’s “The Death of the Moth” has impacted my students throughout the years with its frank depiction of psychological tension, addressing philosophical themes on an existential level that never fail to capture their attention—so much so, that a group of students painted a mural on the wall outside my classroom, a visual interpretation of Woolf’s essay that they titled Memento Mori .

The candor and intimacy of Dr. Oliver Sacks’s depiction of his final days before his death from cancer have engendered numerous touching and insightful comments from my students during our Socratic seminars analyzing his almost unendurably moving personal essay, “My Periodic Table.”

Students respond viscerally, it seems, to the personal. Sadly, many students have been touched by some of the same tragic subject matter that we analyze through these texts. During our seminars and journal assignments, my students have revealed their own personal connections to some of the personal essays we read in class, connecting, I think, to the shared experiences that we have all had throughout human history.

Our students often find themselves facing a vortex of standardized tests, AP exams, and benchmarks throughout the school year, which often emphasize the formulaic. The active process of personal choice on topic and subject seems lost. So often my students ask me questions when writing an essay, seeking a particular answer, as if literary analysis were calculus. Missing is the creativity, the exploration of writing free from academic constraints like rubrics and scoring guides. Writer-editor Steve Moyer asserts in  Edsitement , “Nuanced thought... requires a greater gestation period than the nearly instant gratification made possible on Twitter.” I have witnessed this impatience from my own students.

There can be a restlessness in the writing process, a hesitancy for revision or drafting. Personal essays require self-reflection and a free-flowing freedom from rigid form that my students embrace in a way that they don’t with an argument or research-based essay. On more than one occasion during parent-teacher conferences, I have had parents tell me that their child used to love creative writing, but somewhere along the way, the rigor of school seemed to have killed it.

Personal essays, then, restore that creativity, since they encourage a freedom from form. Students can experiment with style and figurative language and syntax in ways that the traditional academic five-paragraph essay often thwarts.

Personal essays also allow teachers to really get to know our students, too. The inherent intimacy of a personal essay, the connection between the writer and the reader—in this case, a student and a teacher—provides insight into the concerns, the dreams, the emotions of our students in addition to allowing us to assess how they exercise their compositional skills, including imagery, syntax, diction, and figurative language. Here, then, a teacher has the best of both worlds. We’re able to both connect to our students on an emotional level and evaluate their learning on an academic level. Personal essays also serve as an emotional outlet.

There seems to be a common assumption that personal essays for high school students serve only the college application process, so the process begins during their senior year. Personal writing, however, should occur throughout a student’s academic experience. The narrative essays that most elementary school students encounter evolve into the more ruminative, philosophical, and reflective personal writing they will encounter during their senior year from many of Common App essay prompts.

Many teachers implement journal writing in their classrooms that provides a firm foundation for the type of personal writing that the college admissions essay requires. In my own class of juniors, the last assignment we complete for the year is a personal essay. My intent is to help prepare them for the college essay they will write, hopefully, during the summer so that they will have a solid draft before the application process begins.

Teaching our students this strategy in their own writing benefits them in their futures, not only for the imminent college application process but also for job interviews. For example, I was mentoring a student, a senior who had no desire to go to college, about the job interview process he would soon face after graduation. We rehearsed and practiced the types of questions he might encounter from a future employer. I encouraged him to remember the personal details of his experience, personalizing everything in a way that would allow him to ideally stand out as a job candidate.

Through personal essay writing, my overarching, grand ambition is to instill in my students ultimately a love of reflection, looking back on their experience, reminiscing on significant memories that linger, carefully considering the seemingly little moments that, only upon reflection, have an enormous impact on us.

Essays on Various Topics - List of Essay Writing Ideas

Essay writing is not everyone’s cup of tea. Most students find it difficult to begin writing. Essays can be made easier if students start thinking about the topic either through brainstorming or by putting them down on a sheet of paper. After getting the ideas, they need to know how to organise them to form an essay. For this, they need to practise essays on different topics. Here, we have compiled a list of Essays on various topics.

These are the general essay topics which are most likely to be asked in the exam. Some of these essay topics are also picked from past year papers. Students of Classes 6 to 10 can go through these essays and know the right way of expressing their thoughts to form a perfect essay. We will be soon updating more Essays.

A composition on a particular topic consisting of more than one paragraph is an essay. The characteristics of a good essay are:

1) Unity: The essay should deal with the main subject and all parts of it should be clearly linked with that subject.

2) Coherence: There should be a logical sequence of thought. This requires a logical relationship between ideas, sentences and paragraphs.

3) Relevance: Unimportant information should not be included.

4) Proportion: Give more space to important ideas.

Students can also get the essays for class 2 and class 3 to improve their writing skills.

Types of Essays

Essays are mainly ways of expressing one’s ideas and thoughts. Essays vary in how one narrates a personal experience, describes an issue, or convinces the reader to accept a certain viewpoint. So, essays are mainly classified into four major types, as mentioned below:

1) Narrative Essays: Telling a Story

While writing a narrative essay, students must consider the topic as if telling a story. Through these essays, they can express themselves in a creative way. These essays are usually written in the first person, so as to engage the readers.

2) Descriptive Essays: Painting a Picture with Words

In a descriptive essay, students have to paint a picture with words. They have to describe something. It can be an object, person, place, experience, emotion, situation or anything else. These essays allow students a great deal of artistic freedom.

3) Expository Essays: Presentation of the Facts

An expository essay is an informative piece of writing that presents a balanced analysis of a topic. To write a good expository essay, students need to investigate the topic, evaluate evidence, express the idea, and set forth an argument clearly and concisely. It can be done by comparison and contrast, definition, example, the analysis of cause and effect, etc.

4) Persuasive Essays: Convince Me

A persuasive essay is one in which a writer tries to convince the reader to accept his/her viewpoint. It presents all sides of the argument but clearly communicates the writer’s personal opinion.

Frequently Asked Questions on Essay writing Essay

How should students practise essay writing.

The following points should be remembered while practising essay writing: 1. Constant written practice is required for honing essay writing skills. Writing alone tests the competency of the students to ideate and execute a proper essay within a specified time. 2. In-depth knowledge on various topics is a prerequisite for students preparing to write essays in school exams and competitive examinations. Such knowledge can be acquired by regularly developing a habit of reading extensively — especially newspapers and magazines — and following other news sources on various media available to them. 3. Developing a good vocabulary is another important factor students should focus on. Essay writing demands a more formal and extensive vocabulary as the range of topics asked are so wide-ranging. Every topic will demand familiarity with words and phrases pertaining to it. Use of good idiomatic English rich with apt vocabulary will help students pen memorable essays.

How to write an essay on an unknown or unfamiliar topic?

If an essay topic is unfamiliar then students can try to write in general about topics which are related to the main topic. Reading magazines and books can help in acquisition of knowledge in various subject matters.

How to score high marks in essay writing?

Given below are some of the points to be considered to ensure that students can score high marks in essay writing. 1. Maintain flow of text in essay: Ensure that the essay follows a natural progression from introduction to conclusion. Make sure that each paragraph is thematically or logically connected to successive paragraphs. Only then will the essay be evocative and easy to read and comprehend. 2. Phrase the essay is a relatable way: Keep the target audience in mind while drafting the essay and use images and language that resonate with them. Otherwise it would fail to connect with the reader, even if you have come up with a decent essay. 3. Be creative: Show the audacity to think out of the box and to deviate from traditional ways of writing essays while coming up with ideas to present your viewpoints in the essay. Readers will be immediately drawn to a piece of writing that gives them a fresh perspective, even if you are writing on a very common topic. But too much creativity and idiosyncratic writing will only mar an otherwise well-researched essay. 4. Present the essay in a better manner: Always think of new ways and strategies to present your ideas which you may have drawn from multiple sources. Doing background research is definitely essential. But that does not mean that you have to present the content you found in the same way. A fresh approach can turn a boring essay into a very engaging one. 5. Do not be over confident: Essays usually require students to state personal opinions as well as facts. Be prudent in voicing your opinions as well as in stating facts – make sure you don’t hurt the sentiments of readers when writing on sensitive and controversial topics. Practice diligence, not overconfidence, while writing essays as a best practice.

500 words essay on value of education.

Education is a weapon for the people by which they can live a high-quality life. Furthermore, education makes people easy to govern but at the same time it makes them impossible to be enslaved. Let us take a look at the incredible importance of education with this value of education essay.

value of education essay

                                                                                                                        Value Of Education Essay

Importance of Education

Education makes people independent. Furthermore, it increases knowledge, strengthens the mind, and forms character. Moreover, education enables people to put their potentials to optimum use.

Education is also a type of reform for the human mind. Without education, the training of the human mind would always remain incomplete.

Education makes a person an efficient decision-maker and a right thinker. Moreover, this is possible only with the help of education. This is because education acquaints an individual with knowledge of the world around him and beyond, besides teaching the individual to be a better judge of the present.

A person that receives education shall have more avenues for the life of his choice. Moreover, an educated person will be able to make decisions in the best possible manner. This is why there is such a high demand for educated people over uneducated people for the purpose of employment .

Negative Impact of Lack of Education

Without education, a person would feel trapped. One can understand this by the example of a man who is confined to a closed room, completely shut from the outside world, with no way to exit it. Most noteworthy, an uneducated person can be compared to this confined man.

Education enables a person to access the open world. Furthermore, a person without education is unable to read and write. Consequently, a person without education would remain closed to all the knowledge and wisdom an educated person can gain from books and other mediums.

The literacy rate of India stands at around 60% in comparison to more than 80% literacy rate of the rest of the world. Moreover, the female literacy rate is 54.16% in accordance with the 2001 population census. These figures certainly highlight the massive problem of lack of education in India.

To promote education, the government of India takes it as a national policy. The intention of the government is to target the very cause of illiteracy. As such, the government endeavours to eradicate illiteracy, which in turn would lead to the eradication of poverty .

The government is running various literacy programmes like the free-education programme, weekend and part-time study programme, continuing education programme, mid-day meal programme, adult literacy programme, etc. With the consistent success rate of these programmes, hopefully, things will better.

Conclusion of Value of Education Essay

importance of education essay for class 12

Importance of Girl's Education Essay for Class 12

importance of education essay for class 12

Girl's education is one of the most indispensable parameter for preserving and enriching our cultural and civilised inherited values. Girls are the foundation bricks to construct the house of civilised society and also Girls are more responsible for cultivating high values in the society. A girl turning to mother is the first and the most important teacher to inject the sense of wrong and right into the raw and clean mind of a child. Therefore an educated mother can only be produced if we dreamed for an educated girl in our past course of social process. First lesson of life is the most important that decides the way a grown up child will deal with the society in future. An educated mother can only deliver this goodness if she would has been borough up in right way from her childhood.

Girls are sharing and caring our values with fifty percent approximately, but it is very unfortunate that a more percentages of girls are not getting proper education particularly in developing countries. They had been facing discrimination for long time. They have been deprived from their basic human rights. This is dragging the girls education status behind. Educating the girls is the one of the most steps to empower them about which we have been talking about in world conferences.

It is a painful feeling that India has lowest female literacy rate in Asia ( Report -1998 ). Illiterate women have higher mortality rates and high fertility rate. It has been noticed that an uneducated woman has negative impact on health of her children. Article 45 (Directive Principles of State policy) of the Indian constitution has provision of compulsory education until age of fourteen years. A national policy also has been implemented to bring basic change in woman's life. It has been very unfortunate the people of our country are binding girls for nominal certification for the success of girl's marriage. They are not considering the girl's education as a foundation of her earning helper in bad time in her future. Miseries of girl's future has been noticed higher after her marriage. The dependency of girls upon boys turning them weak in their married life. These are not the problem of India, but a basic problems in Asian countries.

I recommend girls to learn to earn. And use their mind and education to strengthen themselves. Be leader not a follower of husband. This doesn't mean to fight with husband but to work in synergy with husband to achieve better life for their children so that the girls of their next generation be more dynamic and empowered. This is a big fact and a very positive note that Indian girls are proving themselves better than boys in the Matriculation and plus two results.

Girls are basically second in the world. It is not me but the data of professionalism and working field are reflecting. Few countries are exception. One change the whole world need is that their should be a compatible professional education for the girls. The common field is open to all but their should be few specific field for medium type of girls who want to stand mentally and economically in her life.

I wish a modern empowered girl in our society as besides mother's role there are various roles of girls those are accountable for turning our life into heavenly life. Whole world communities should work in synergy to provide better education, health care , self-esteemed life to a girl.

Reading Comprehension Through Unseen Passages

Q. Read the following text.

Shyam lay in his cabin, still trying to piece together the events of the last few hours. He had watched his home planet of Earth be demolished to make way for a hyperspace bypass, been saved by his friend Ram, and then whisked away on a ship that was powered by an "infinite improbability drive." It was all too much for him.

Just then, Ram stuck his head around the door.

"Hey, Earthman," he said, "come and have a look at this."

Shyam stumbled after him down a corridor and into the ship's control room. He gazed in amazement at the banks of controls and flashing lights. In the center of the room was a large console covered in buttons and switches, and in the middle of the console was a small, white mouse.

   "What's that?" asked Shyam.

"That's the ship's computer," said Ram.

Shyam stared at the mouse. "That's a computer?" he said.

"Yup," said Ram. "Five-dimensional, biologically-based, super intelligent, and in the form of a white lab mouse. Pretty neat, huh?"

"I don't know," said Shyam. "I don't think I really understand anything anymore. Why is a mouse the

ship's computer?"

"It's a long story," said Ram. "But the short version is that the mice built the Earth as a giant computer to figure out the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything. Then they ran out of money and had to destroy it to make way for a hyperspace bypass. So now they're using the Heart of Gold to finish the calculation."

Shyam was about to say something, but at that moment the ship's intercom crackled to life.

"Good evening, Heart of Gold," said a smooth, computerized voice. "This is Eddie, your shipboard computer. I'm feeling a bit depressed today. Would you like me to sing you a song?"

"Oh, not again," groaned Ram.

"Eddie, would you mind shutting up?" said Shyam.

Shyam sighed and leaned back against the console, trying to make sense of everything. But as he closed his eyes, he heard a voice inside his head.

"Hello?" it said.

Shyam jumped, startled. "Who's there?" he said.

"It's me," said the voice. "John."

"John?" said Shyam . "Who's John?" "The Paranoid Android," said the voice.

Shyam looked around, but he didn't see anyone. "Where are you?" he said. "I'm down here," said the voice.

Shyam looked down and saw a small, metal figure shuffling across the floor. It was about three feet tall, with a round head and a body that looked like it had been cobbled together from spare parts. Its eyes were a dull red, and its voice was a monotone.

"I've been waiting for someone to talk to me for over two million years," said John.

Answer the following questions, based on the passage above.

  • Routine and boredom
  • Adventure and excitement
  • Loss and change
  • Calm and relaxation
  • It is the captain of the ship
  • It serves as the ship's computer
  • It is a pet of the crew
  • It is used for scientific experiments

(iii) Share evidence from the text, in about 40 words to support the view that the writer’s writing the style is descriptive and humorous.

Based on the information given in the excerpt, one can infer that the mice who built the Earth are ________.
